Wise men come from the east, following a special star, a star that signifies the birth of the King of the Jews. They followed that star all the was to Jerusalem, but there was no baby in the king’s palace. So they followed the star to Bethlehem and worshiped Jesus, the King of the Jews. Years later as Jesus dies on the cross for us, we see His name written above him, the King of the Jews.

The Angel says to the shepherds, he has good news of great joy for all the people, “a Savior is born and He is Christ the Lord” We love good news and it's even better when it's good news for everyone. We all need the Savior and Christ the Lord saves more that just the day. Jesus saves our eternity. Today, Christmas Eve morning, we celebrate the birth of the Son of God. Mary and Joseph obeyed God and called him Jesus, just as the angel said. Today we are looking at his name, Jesus. God told a prophet over 700 years before Jesus was born, that a virgin would give birth to a Son and we would call his name Immanuel which is translated “God with us”. And God kept his promise, a Son was born, He is God with us, God with skin on, and His name is Jesus.
