Pastor, I thought you said I didn’t have to do anything?! It's true, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We can't DO anything to earn God's grace, it's a gift. So what does James mean when he says be Doers of the Word? That's what we will be discussing today. God is calling us to be Doers of His Word. You might want to listen to this with a mirror near bye. God, can't you see what's going on in my life? - James 1:1-18
Do you think God sees you? Does God know what's going on in your life? The answer to both questions is yes. No matter what is going on in your life, God is with you, He is steadfast. We will experience trials, times when our faith is tested. We will face temptation to sin, even the temptation to blame God for what's happening in our lives. But through it all, God is with us and He gives us everything we need. Today is the first Sunday in Lent, a season we focus on repentance. Repentance is turning away from sin and toward God.
