"Made you look!" always makes me feel like an idiot. In the early years of Jesus' ministry John the Baptizer (cool nickname) wasn't concerned with people following him, no, John was pointing his best friends to follow Jesus. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Not just hiding our sin and shame, Jesus actually takes our sin away and God declares us forgiven.

We are kicking off a new series, Jesus: the early years. And today we are talking about boy Jesus, and it looks like he really messed up and his parents weren't happy. Did Jesus sin against his parents? No, Jesus is perfect, he never sinned. Jesus is perfect, He does everything right, and he still does, even when we don't understand.

Merry Christmas! I hear "O Holy Night" and I sing along and then I wonder how holy was the night our Savior was born - birth is a mess! We are messy people living messed up lives, but Jesus comes and makes us holy. The night Jesus entered our messy world is holy because Jesus' presence makes it holy. Jesus makes our messy lives holy too.
